Hundreds of residents of Niger State in Nigeria have fled to the Republic of Benin in search of refuge following repeated bandit attacks on their communities.
Reports say a recent attack was carried out on some villages in Borgu and Agwara Local Government Areas, where many houses were set ablaze.
The attacks left residents without shelter, forcing them to seek safety in neighbouring Benin Republic.
An eyewitness, who requested anonymity, told the BBC that when the attackers first arrived, villagers fled in fear and abandoned their belongings, including farm produce, clothing, and other valuables.
The bandits later returned and completely burned down the village.
