A new report has revealed that the United States spent an estimated $3.7 billion within the first 100 hours of the ongoing war launched by the United States and Israel against Iran.
The estimate was made by the Center for Strategic and International Studies (CSIS), a Washington-based research institution that closely monitors global security and defense spending.
According to the analysis, the cost of the war averaged about $900 million per day during the initial phase of the conflict, highlighting the enormous financial burden of the military operation on Washington.
The report further indicated that the war, which entered its seventh day on Friday, has forced the United States to deploy a wide range of sophisticated military assets, including advanced fighter jets, precision-guided weapons, and other modern warfare equipment that come with extremely high operational costs.
Analysts noted that the heavy reliance on advanced technology and large-scale military logistics has significantly driven up expenses for the United States during the early stages of the conflict.
In contrast, the report suggested that Iran’s spending on the war effort appears relatively modest compared to that of the United States, as Tehran relies more on less expensive military tactics and locally produced defense systems.
Security experts say the financial disparity reflects the broader difference in military strategies between the two sides, with Washington investing heavily in high-tech warfare capabilities.
The findings have sparked discussions among policy analysts about the long-term economic implications of the conflict, particularly if the war continues for an extended period.
Observers warn that prolonged military engagement could place additional strain on U.S. defense resources while reshaping the strategic balance in the Middle East.
The report was cited by RFI Hausa, which highlighted the growing cost of the conflict as fighting between the opposing forces intensified.
Experts say the coming weeks will likely determine whether the war escalates further or moves toward diplomatic efforts aimed at reducing tensions in the region.
