The Minister of State for Housing and Urban Development, Yusuf Abdullahi Ata, has extended warm felicitations to Muslims across Nigeria on the occasion of Eid-el-Fitr, marking the successful completion of the holy month of Ramadan.
Adamu Aminu, the Special Assistant on Media to the Minister of State for Housing and Urban Development, announced this in a statement on Friday.
In his goodwill message, the Minister described Ramadan as a profound period of spiritual rejuvenation and moral reflection, emphasizing the enduring values of faith, discipline, sacrifice, and compassion fostered during the sacred month.
He urged Muslims to sustain the virtues cultivated throughout the 30-day fast, noting that the true essence of Ramadan lies not only in fasting but in the transformation of character and commitment to supporting the less privileged in society.
Atta, the former Speaker of the Kano State House of Assembly also called on Nigerians to strengthen the bonds of peaceful coexistence, stressing that unity remains the cornerstone of national stability and sustainable development.
He added that, “Our diversity should serve as a source of strength rather than division.
“The lessons of patience, tolerance, humility, and self-restraint learned during Ramadan should continue to guide our actions and relationships even beyond this sacred period.”
The Minister further urged Muslims to offer prayers for Nigeria’s peace, economic recovery, and social harmony, noting that collective supplication and responsible citizenship are vital to overcoming the nation’s challenges.
He also encouraged citizens to support government initiatives aimed at improving housing and urban infrastructure, emphasizing that collaboration between government and the people is essential for achieving inclusive and sustainable development.
As families and communities celebrate Eid-el-Fitr, Minister Ata reaffirmed his call for reflection, responsibility, and renewed commitment to nation-building, expressing optimism for a more united, peaceful, and prosperous Nigeria.
