By Muhammad Nasir

The newly inaugurated leadership of the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA), Sokoto State Branch, has pledged to uphold the dignity of the legal profession, improve the welfare of its members, and ensure that justice is not only proclaimed but visibly served across the state.

The new Chairman of the branch, Mr Bashir Jodi, made the pledge in a statement issued to journalists in Sokoto on Friday.

Jodi, who officially assumed office on Wednesday, expressed confidence in the ability of the newly elected executive committee to lead the affairs of the Caliphate Bar with diligence, patriotism and an unwavering commitment to service.

He said his administration would be guided by four key pillars: enhancing members’ welfare, promoting fairness and equity, strengthening the rule of law, and deepening service to humanity.

“I am deeply humbled by the tremendous confidence reposed in me and in all the new executives of the NBA in Sokoto state.

“Our mandate is clear: to protect the dignity of the legal profession, improve the welfare of our members, and ensure that justice is not just spoken, but seen and felt in the state,” Jodi said.
