Two suspected fighters linked to the Islamic State West Africa Province (ISWAP) were arrested by Cameroonian security forces.
Reports say the suspects crossed into Cameroon from Banki town in Bama Local Government Area of Borno State, Nigeria, after fleeing from a confrontation with Nigerian troops stationed in the area.
Security sources confirm to Independent Reporters that the individuals retreated into Cameroon after attacking a Nigerian military position in Banki town but were forced to withdraw when they met strong resistance from the troops.
Cameroonian security forces later apprehended the two suspects after they crossed the border, as efforts continue between regional forces to maintain security along the Nigeria–Cameroon border
