The Commissioner of Police (CP), in Jigawa, Mr Haruna Yahaya, says the State Command remained committed to ensuring a credible process in the ongoing constable recruitment.
Yahaya gave the assuranceForce when he conducted on-the-spot assessment of the physical and credential screening exercise for applicants into the Nigeria Police Force, in Dutse.
He explained that the gesture is to ensure the recruitment of competent, disciplined, and service-oriented police personnel by the command.
The exercise, taking place at command headquarters in Dutse, involved the general screening candidates for both General Duty and Specialist Cadres of Police Constables.
During the visit, the CP carefully inspected the screening process to ensure strict compliance with the established guidelines as set by the Police Service Commission and the Nigeria Police Force.
Yahaya, who emphasized the importance of transparency, fairness, and merit in the process, expressed satisfaction with the level of organization and professionalism displayed by officers and officials conducting the exercise.
He warned that no form of corruption, favoritism or compromise will be tolerated throughout the exercise.
The CP further urged the applicants to conduct themselves in an orderly manner, adhere strictly to instructions, as well as ensure that all required documents are genuine and properly presented for verification.
While appreciating the cooperation of all stakeholders, he called on the candidates to remain patient and law-abiding throughout the exercise.
The CP was warmly received by police team leader DCP Muhammad K Abdullahi, senior officers from the command, officials from the Police Service Commission, the Ministry of Police Affairs, and the Federal Character Commission.
Members of the Police Community Relation Committee (PCRC), led by its chairman, Hon Barde Shehu, were also present at the recruitment center during the CP’s visit.
