Gov. Radda launches 2027 house-to-house campaign group

Gov. Dikko Radda of Katsina on Wednesday officially launched a grassroots political mobilisation platform tagged: “Dikko Gida-Gida 2027” meaning House-to-House Campaign.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the move is aimed at galvanising support for the governor’s re-election in the 2027.

The initiative, spearheaded by a former member of the House of Representatives, Kabir Shu’aibu-Charanchi, was inaugurated alongside the opening of its state office in Katsina.

Speaking at the event, Radda commended Shu’aibu-Charanchi for what he described as a bold and selfless initiative, assuring members of the group of his administration’s moral support.

The governor clarified that the campaign structure was independently funded by its promoter.

“I want to inform the public that what Kabir-Charanchi is doing, he is doing it willingly with his personal resources. We did not give him a single kobo,” Radda stated.

He urged members and supporters of the All Progressives Congress (APC) across the state to remain patient and united, stressing that governance requires time and collective understanding.

The governor said: “In terms of dividends of democracy, we cannot always get everything at once. I am appealing to party members to exercise patience.

“The most important thing for us is to remain focused on delivering projects that will benefit the entire people of the state, improve their well-being and sustain the trust they have in us.”

Earlier, Shu’aibu-Charanchi said the ‘Dikko Gida-Gida 2027’ movement was conceived to consolidate support for the governor ahead of the 2027 polls.

According to him, the group would embark on a statewide house-to-house engagement campaign to mobilise grassroots backing and reconcile aggrieved party members.

“Our aim is to go round, visit and plead with those who might have been offended. We have no opposition in Katsina except internal issues,” he said.

He added that the initiative would focus on strengthening party unity and ensuring that members remain committed to the APC and supportive of Gov. Radda’s second-term ambition.

NAN reports that the launch signals the early build-up of political activities ahead of the 2027 governorship race in Katsina State, with party stakeholders positioning to consolidate structures at the grassroots level.
